August Briggs Monte Rosso Cabernet Sauvignon 2001
Wine Advocate The 2001 Cabernet Sauvignon Monte Rosso Vineyard is impressive. Produced from some of Sonoma’s oldest Cabernet vineyards, this classic effort reveals a saturated ruby/purple-tinged color along with a sweet nose of blue and black fruits intermixed with notions of flower and earth. Tannic, powerful, rich, and packed with all the necessities for a long life, this impressively made red requires 2-3 years of cellaring, and should last for 15+. Score: 90. —Robert Parker, February 2005.
