Amavi Cellars Cabernet Sauvignon 2005
E-mail this item from International CellarAmavi Cellars Cabernet Sauvignon 2005 The 2005 Cabernet Sauvignon is beautifully structured and complex yet softly layered and appealing throughout. The wine is pleasantly aromatic with the essence of ripe berries and a light earthiness, and the flavors are well integrated. Dark fruit and cassis flavors are followed by hints of dry herbs, chocolate and spice. Wine Spectator This full-bodied, generous Cabernet is ripe and rich, focusing its dark-toned berry, black olive and pepper flavors beautifully. The tannins are present on the finish, but can't stop the fruit. Best from 2010 through 2017. 4,910 cases made. –HS Score: 92. —Harvey Steiman, June 30, 2008.Wine Enthusiast Smooth and supple, Amavi’s 2005 Cabernet includes a healthy bit of Syrah, which adds details of spice and pepper to the smooth and supple cassis and black cherry fruit. Tannins are ripe and well-defined, and the wine carries subtle suggestions of olive and tea. It’s focused and bright, polished and immediately delicious, though it could certainly cellar for a few years. Score: 90. —Paul Gregutt, May 01, 2008. |
