Odfjell is one of a handful of Chilean wineries making top-shelf Malbec. And at $20 Orzada constitutes serious value because it’s a huge wine with copious new oak, extract and complexity. Expect shoe polish, some sawmill and immense black-fruit character from nose to palate to finish. It’s arguably overwooded, but the fruit and natural body to this wine can handle it. ($20) Inky ruby. Sexy, expressive bouquet of cherry-cola, blackberry, smoked meat and Indian spices. Pliant dark berry flavors stain the palate and are framed by silky tannins. The cola and spice notes gain strength on the finish, which features sweet black and blue fruit qualities. This is an incredible value and compares favorably to some of Argentina's finest malbecs. 90 points
